For Milan Design Week 2026, LcD Textile Edition unveils Full Metal Banquet, an immersive installation presented at Palazzo Litta, as part of the collective exhibition whose overarching theme this year is "Metamorphosis."
Conceived as a direct response to this curatorial theme, the installation explores the transformation of materials and the way we perceive them. For this project, the Belgian house has imagined an experimental scenography: a metallic banquet composed entirely of fragments and materials drawn from its own production process. Workshop leftovers, textile selvedges, unsuccessful prototypes and second-choice fabrics are transformed into the elements of a striking composition where materials evolve and take on new meaning.
Through this project, LcD Textile Edition proposes a reflection on the metamorphosis of matter and the poetic value of reuse, revealing the unexpected beauty of production remnants. In a universe where technical yarns and metallic fibers capture and reflect light, discarded materials become precious artifacts, giving rise to a scenography that is both sculptural and luminous.
For this installation, LcD Textile Edition invited feather artist Eric Charles Donatien, who collaborated on the scenography and figurative elements of the project. Known for his work at the crossroads of fine craftsmanship and contemporary experimentation, the artist brings an organic and theatrical dimension to this extraordinary metallic banquet.
Presented within the historic spaces of Palazzo Litta, the installation is part of one of the Fuorisalone's most prominent venues, where architectural heritage meets contemporary design and material research.
Based in Belgium, LcD Textile Edition has been producing limited-edition handcrafted textiles for more than thirty years. The studio is known for its distinctive expertise in weaving technical fibers combined with semi-precious metals, creating textile surfaces that capture and diffuse light. Primarily conceived for vertical applications, these creations are featured in hospitality, commercial, nautical and residential projects, where they function as true architectural elements. All patterns in the collection can be customized through a bespoke coloration service, enabling architects and designers to integrate these metallic textiles into unique projects.
